1) Room was not ready until 2 hours after we checked in. 2) No lock box available even after they promised maintenance would add one. 3) Room service was 1 hour late and we were still charged for it. 4) Toilet flooded room and hotel tried to make us pay. They would not give us a new room so we had to wait 3 hours (until 1-2 am) to go to sleep. 5) Hotel staff was extremely rude and unhelpful.

We have owned at VDP for twelve years and we are very fussy people because we are ex-hoteliers. The ameneties and staff at VDP are first rate and cleanliness is not an issue. Sometimes its a little hard trying to make the management understand that all you want are standards comparable to those at home. The Americans are the worst whingers mainly because I have to say that the hotel standards in America are very high but have no cultural soul ! The hotels in America are clinical and the bright "have a nice day" service is false in most of them The Mexicans cannot hide anything - it's the Latin temperament. VDP both Cabo and Vallarta are highly recommended but the weather is better in Vallarta !

To begin the terrible stay they told us that we didn't have reservations through our timeshare company Interval Internatinal. They told us our rooms only had one bed and we only had one room. We had 6 people! While we tried to figure things out for 4 days of our vacation we ended up getting robbed. To make the story short, it was an inside job b/c a key was used to open the door, the safe was broken into with a stone, and our bags were rummaged through. To say the least our vacation was ruined and with their sketchy employees I wouldn't recommend staying there. It was suppose to have the best security, but when their employees are the corrupt ones their isn't much a person can do!

We just got back from VDP and couldn't have been less happy. First, the rooms are cheesy, like dorm rooms. The stove was this little two burner hot plate thing that didn't work. The beach location was great until we swam and found out how dirty the water is. As it turns out, the hotel is located just down stream from the river where people dump their trash. If you want to check out what gets throw in the river, look on the public beach just 100 yards north of the hotel. Finally, the staff was awful to us. They were livid that we refused their time share presentation and were very rude to us, asking us if we really wanted to give away all the free stuff. The front desk ran a charge through on our credit card of $5,000 peso's on the day we arrived without telling us, as a deposit. We don't get it refunded for a week after we leave. We broke two dishes on the tile floor while there and they wouldn't tell us how much it costs to replace them, it will be a big surprise I guess. It would have been nice to take care of that while we were in Mexico, we told them several times about the items, but, it seems they want to wait until we are back in the States to settle up. All in all, they were very shady and I woudn't go back, nor recommend them to any one else.

My boyfriend and I spent a week at Villa del Palmar, Puerto Vallarta and
couldn't be more pleased with the service. The resort is absolutely
beautiful and the staff is very friendly and helpful!!!
There were a
lot of children at the hotel, so I assume it is great for families. There
is also a "quiet" pool, for those that would rather avoid the
crowds of the other 2 beautiful pools.
I highly recommend this
hotel!
