I visited the Victoria 6 years ago. I had a pleasant stay. However, nothing really stood out in my mind. Upon my return, I stayed 5 nights. The one thing that was the outsatnding to me was the consistently world class service.

The room smelled like urine, the maids were stoned to the bejeezus belt, "clean" glasses had lipstick marks on them, trouble getting fresh towels and they charged 20 Euro a day for a breakfast if you eat it or not. Excellent location though. My guess is that the rooms in the garden wing (where I stayed) are crap, but the others must be nicer.

I'm starting to think that the other reviews written here were written by the hotel managers. I've stayed in many hotels worldwide and this was quite possibly one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. The room we had smelled of urine, we never got enough towels and it was overpriced. On top of that, we were "charged" 25 Euros every day for breakfast without our knowing it, even on our first day (which we arrived in the evening). Since we were being charged anyway, we decided to try the breakfast buffet one day and it was dirty with substandard food. I've eaten at cleaner and better tasting $4.99 buffets. As an added bonus, the hotel cleaning staff was usually stoned to the bejeezus belt...... good location though.

The Victoria Hotel Amsterdam is a deluxe hotel conveniently located in the
city center that features contemporary rooms and a
hotel staff that
provides exemplary service that consistently exceeded our expectations. We
loved the hotel and would recommend it highly. Our king room was roomy,
sumptuous and well-appointed. We hit the jackpot on our first visit to
Amsterdam.

My wife and I spent our honeymoon in Amsterdam and the Victoria Hotel was our host Hotel. I was very impressed with the rooms and the service. The Hotel itself was awesome, very victorian decor with lots of brass and marble. The rooms are very nice they are standard rooms with A/C, private bathrooms, mini bars, tv's, super comfortable beds and some have better views than other. The location could not have been any better, it is central to the whole city and maybe 1 block away from the Central Station. I was very impressed with the overall service and being a Chef I was also pleased with their on site dining facilities. I will always return to the Victoria Hotel anytime I am in Amsterdam. If you are looking for an awesome experience stay at the Victoria.
