Although the location of the hotel was good (right next to central park and Carnegie Hall), it was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. When we first arrived to our room it looked a little dusty and old, but not too bad. Eventually, after settling in, we noticed rips in the furniture and mold on the bathroom walls. At night the heating of the hotel would come on and off while making noises that kept us up. It was winter, so we did not notice any roaches or rats, but we suspect ticks in some of the beds (we found ourselves bitten all over). The hotel managers were relativly nice, but were not very helpful. We would ask them for something, like to open the safe in our room, and they would say, "Sure, it'll be done by the time you get back." Yeah right, they did nothing. The location is great, we walked everywhere, but our stay at the hotel was not pleasant, and I would not go there again.

I stayed at this hotel in Sept. of '04. I have to say I was disgusted. The rooms were filthy, I saw evidence of mice and roaches, and the overall place was dilapidated. The staff did the best they could under the circumstances and they did not seem happy about it. I wanted to leave early but my stay was prepaid so I was stuck. In regards to their website........read with caution. It seems as if it is not exactly honest. The highlight of my stay was being handed official documents describing a serious crime committed by the general manager!!! There was a man in front of the hotel handing them out. Only in New York, but not the hotel for me.

When I arrrived I was afraid to see what the rooms looked like. I was to get the suite, which was old and smelly inside. I was waiting for rats to come out of the wall. The elevator in the hotel only fits around two people at at time. You walk into the hall way and the room and it smells like someone died. It is not a very nice place to stay at all. It is extremely dirty, and do not beleive what the pictures look like online, they are false advertisement. As for the sign when you walk in that says excuse the mess because we are renovating is a lie, just like everything else about that hotel. I do not reccommend the hotel to anyone!!

...if not America. The room was dirty, there was no heating, and only one lightbulb worked. The bed was also very uncomfortable. The staff made no attempt to change my room or move me to another hotel. Given the usual high standard of hotels in the States, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
