A little treasure

We were expecting a holiday in the sun, but the brief rain forced us to explore some local museums. One that we greatly enjoyed was called the Ocean Star Rig Museum. It was fascinating. Along with the Seaport Museum and Great Storm, it was time well spent.

Great for: Beaches, History/Culture, Budget Travel, Family Holidays

Galveston a great place to go

I had a wonderful experience during my stay at Galveston. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express which was within walking distance to the beach. The beach was amazing!! The people there were friendly and I was able to relax and enjoy my stay. The seafood was great as well as the Mexican food. Galveston wasn't busy like a tourist city may be. There were may of the conveniences a bigger town would offer but with a small-town feel.

Galveston is a great little inexpensive get-a-way, especially if you live in Houston.....It's so close and they have so many activities that the whole family can enjoy.

Great Island

I love Galveston. The strand and the beach are awesome as well as relaxing. There are many things to do, as well as a new schlitterbahn that is being built there. The island has great food (benos is awesome) and nice people. The only problem I have with the place is that there is high unemployment, which means most of the island is a ghetto. However, if you stay along the main public roads and normal beaches and attractions, Galveston is a fun as well as safe place to be.

Vacation With Grandchildren

We stayed at the San Luis Resort and everything about it was great! We visited Moody Gardens at Christmas time and saw the Festival of Lights,Rainforest, and Aquarium Pyramid. We were disappointed that the Discovery Pyramid was closed while we were there. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and can't wait to return.

Great Vacation Spot

I loved Galveston Island, there were so many fun things to do! The beach, the museums, historical homes, the resturants, the entertainment, it was all great! I had a blast!

It has both modern and quaint conveniences makes Galveston a perfect romantic getaway.
