Not Flashy but a Nice Getaway
This is a small city with a nice but not overly glamorous atmosphere. The local community is friendly but somewhat insular at the same time. The beaches and water are not Florida but the wildlife is beautiful and the air is fresh. It is fairly quiet in the off season but there are crowds of young people during spring break. It is different and a nice break from the other tourist towns I have been to. I would recommend it for mature couples in the off season or people that want to get away to a quiet seaside place.

It is a beautiful city and really has a down home feel. The fishing is good and there is so much near by, Rockport is a short drive. I could not feel safer any where else. I hope to live here some day.

We just got back from corpus christi and it was very off season. The weather was bad as well so there was really nothing for us to do. I felt it was a waste of 4 hours of driving. Also the gulf didn't seem as clean and crisp as it is in florida. It was worth it to see once but I won't go back anytime soon.

To anyone that is looking for a quiet get away weekend, honeymoon, anniversary, or whatever it may be, you GOTTA stay at the Ocean House Bed & Breakfast on Ocean Drive. It was the MOST , by far THE BEST place I have ever been. The view is AWESOME!!!! The Hospitality Staff was very, very nice and not to mention the food was great!

You usually hear bad things from residents of their own city, however, there are many residents that are glad to call Corpus Christi, TX their home. It's a big city with a small town feel. It's definitely a good place to raise your children and will give them a better idea of what it's like to live in bigger cities such as LA or New York City. Like all big cities, it has it's upscale malls and downscale malls, it's fancy restaurants and corner bakeries, it's museums and high rise buildings. But the one thing that Corpus Christi has that few cities have is its miles and miles of warm, sunny beaches. Oh yeah...that's what Corpus is known for.
