Favorite restaurant in all of Italy
We arrived late and went to eat about 10:30. Acqua al 2 was still open and it was a happening place. We ate there twice in our 4 days in Florence. It's in an excellent location and easy to find. The staff and food were wonderful. I can't wait to go back sometime and am thrilled there is a sister restaurant in San Diego. I know the first place I'm eating there next time I get to San Diego.
Great for: Cheap Eats, After Hour Eats, Pizza

This was the BEST italian food I have ever had! If you go to florence, make sure to eat here. The service was great, and the food was absolutely amazing! Get the pasta sampler.

Several people recommended this restaurant to us while we were on our honeymoon in October 2002. We stopped in on a Monday evening and they were full so we made reservations for the next evening. One of the best meals of my life, not just in Italy. We started with the house table wine and the pasta sampler, and also ordered a special steak, served on focaccia and greens, and I had the steak in peppercorn sauce. You must start with the pasta sampler (it is to die for). Interestingly enough, the same owners own a similar restuarant in San Diego. We go every time we are in town. If you try this restuarant. You will not be disappointed.

Finding somewhere to eat in Florence away from the tourists but alongside
the locals of Firenze led us to acqua al 2.
There was strong competition
for a table and a 40 minute wait outside secured us our evening meal! Next
time we will book in advance.
Anti pasta was perfect - and a large
portion,main courses to match and a quality wine list at reasonable prices.
The service was swift,the restaurant was buzzing and the atmosphere
relaxed.
Can't wait for our annual return to Florence!
