What a disappointment. The place was empty, the atmosphere non existent and the staff totally indifferent. We had booked a table for 16 and we were put on two separate table - why? The waitress had to check three times that she had the orders correct even though they were written down, and when they arrived some were still wrong. Ordering the pudding at the outset as far as I am concerned is an absolute no no, but they did just that. When the food arrived it was not up to expectations. Chutney with the pate was not worth dirtying the plate, it looked like, and was the size of a breadcrumb - ridiculous. The main course, duck and steak was dry and chewy, and the vegetables were so arty that no-one bothered to eat them. The food was unattractively presented, pale pate on a white plate, the creme brulee was curdled and when the waiter asked if everything was all right and was told that it was not, what happened - nothing. I doubt if those 16 people will go there again!
