(Report Problem)Sorry, but the "burg" just doesn't do it for me. I grew up just outside the city and spent a lot of time in and around Pittsburgh. The city has done some cleanup along the waterfront, put in a few bike trails, and added one trolly line - all of which are marked improvements. But overall, it is still a ghost town after 5:00 PM and is not comfortable to walk around...not that there is much of anything to walk to anyhow. Other than the notable exception of the Strip District (which IS worth a visit), the shopping and food choices are very standard, midwestern US mall-type fare. I find Station Square and the South Side (Carson Street) highly overrated and dirty. But the absolute worst thing about Pittsburgh is the traffic. The suburbs are bleaker than in most US cities and the roads are clogged with constant traffic jams. Geography (along with PennDOT) has a lot to do with Pittsburgh's transportation problems. It's a very hilly city with three rivers and the many two lane bridges and tunnels are consistent source of bottlenecks. The 2 or 3 worthwhile sites in the "burg" are all reached by getting in your car and adding to the congestion.

(Report Problem)I AM A NATIVE OF PITTSBURGH AND HAVE BEEN GONE NOW FOR 22 YEARS. I HAVE TRAVELED MANY PLACES SINCE THEN AND STILL THINK IT IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WELCOMING PLACES IN THE U.S. THE CITY IS FULL OF HARD WORKING FAMILIES WHO MOSTLY VALUE THEIR ETHNIC ORIGINS AND THE PRIDE OF A CITY WHO HAS FACED MANY HURDLES AND NEVER LOST ITS VALUE OF WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT TO THEM AND THAT BEING NOT THEIR MERCEDES BUT THEIR HOME!

(Report Problem)I've ben to Pittsburgh many times and I have to say it has improved much in the last 7 years from when I first started visiting. That being said its easy to improve when you start so low. The strip district is fun, the views from the incline are nice, and the zoo isn't bad, but this isn't a cit so much as a larger town. There are not any dicernably good resturants, the bars while priced well are all small town taverns. Basically Pittsburgh is fine, but don't expect what you would from a real city.

(Report Problem)I have been to Pittsburgh several times now in each of the seasons. Each time, while my partner has had to work, I have been able to find outstanding things to entertain me. The Cathedral of Learning is exceptional as are the National Aviary and Phipps Botanical Conservatory. Pittsburgh International Airport is a beautiful facility. Very user friendly and efficient. While I have not stayed in the city, the hotels around the airport are wonderful. Embassy Suites and the Airport Holiday Inn are very pleasant hotels with well appointed rooms, beautiful common areas and good restaurants. Everyone that I have met on my trips has been extremely helpful and considerate. This is a great town!

(Report Problem)I am a returning pittsburgh native born adult male. I lived in pgh for the first 40 years of my life and loved all that existed here. The people, places and especially the friendless of most everybody. I now live permently in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood. It is by far the most filthy area of the city. I grew up in Hazelwood and even though its run its is relatively clean. Check the main streets in the area of Forbes and Murray and it'll turn your stomick. In fact I quite often see the results of people throwing up along with all the food and trash they are carrying while waiting for the bus back to valley to the west.

(Report Problem)If this city were in Europe, they would come from around the world to see it. Great topography and skyline. They also have a great cultural scene and museums. The zoo was nice and they have the National Aviary is located there.

(Report Problem)Pittsburgh is a town that is highly underrated! Pittsburgh has more nightclubs, cafes, lounges and entertainment venues then people know. What angers me is that the nation still looks upon Pittsburgh as an old industrial town, when its present atmosphere is very modern and focused on entertainment and modern culture. The nation needs to give Pittsburgh the credit it deserves. To me that is 5 stars!

(Report Problem)A beautiful skyline from the Mountain Washington. And then down the incline to Station Square where we did some shopping. A boat trip across the river to downtown where we went to the cultural district for dinner and theatre. This city is great and the people are very friendly and helpful with directions. We'll be back.

(Report Problem)We have to been to Pittsburgh for different reasons at different times of the year and have never been disappointed. It's clean and there is so much to do we keep coming back. We have taken our kids and gone to parks, concerts, sporting events and just site seeing. We have come as a couple and gone shopping and clubbing. Love Station Square. We'll keep coming back!! Go black and gold!
