Pittsburgh is just a great city, and you can't understand its magnificence until you go there and experience it yourself.

(Report Problem)Pittsburgh's glory days, such as they were, are long behind her. What's left is a dying town with no nightlife, a scary ghost-town Downtown and a citizenry that has deluded itself into thinking people will mistake the place for Times Square. No thought is given to improving the decrepit mass-transit system or the torn-to-pieces roads, but boy will they jump to spend tax dollars on sports stadiums! And then they're shocked that revenues don't pour in. Sorry, but if there's nothing to do after the game, why would anyone bother going to the city at all? And I have to go there on business and hate every minute of it.

(Report Problem)I loved it, I lived there. The rivers are a bit murky, but Point State Park is a great deal of fun, if you can find it- there's a plaque on the ground where Fort Duquesne used to be. In Kennywood, on the trains I believe they point out one of the battle ground sites, also from that war, I know one of the trees with a musketball stuck in it is still around. The Carnegie Museum is definitely worth a visit, they have a fully assembled T-Rex, which is pretty rare. The Heinz History Museum is very cool, I actually took part in two competitions there. Heinz Hall, the acoustics are good, and the Pittsburgh Symphony is better. Also: The Three Rivers Regada in July, and for baseball buffs, across the street from Schenley Park on one side and the Cathedral of Learning on the other, there's a University of Pittsburgh building, if you go inside, set in the floor of the first floor is the home plate of Forbes Field, and the outer edge of the stadium is set in brick on the concrete outside. In short: Pittsburgh= Great Place.

(Report Problem)Good Time, definately architectually sound and clean. Take advantage of the city or drive just 20-40 miles out of city limits and enjoy the Great PA Outdoors.
