I had to go on a business trip and my friends asked me, "Where to?" Pittsburgh, I say... they moaned... "Too bad." Having never been, I took their word for it and that is where the stigma lays. The energy that I felt when I was in Pittsburgh was vital, the people courteous, and the night life so diverse as to satisy every taste. Plus, the old-fashined pride the residents take in their city was second to none and the navigation of its streets held remarkable ease. I ended up with an awesome experience and look forward to my return.

(Report Problem)Pgh., is a great small city. Lot's of different neighborhoods with their own character. Football season kicks butt and there are a lot of different attractions. Some areas are finally developing too. The skyline is gorgeous and the people are true. Hopefully the economy there will pick-up and bring life back into the city.

(Report Problem)Pittsburgh is a city that is proud of the past, and building on a promising future. The people are some of the nicest in the world. I think it is sad that more people who live hear don't realize how good they have it. I have been in so many big cities in this country, and NONE of them compare to Pittsburgh. Black and Gold... need I say more. You can live here and never have to leave the greater Pittsburgh area for entertainment. Great arts, sports and recreation. Not so great local government, but one strike is not so bad. GO STEELERS. So come dann tann, have an awrn, and see dem stillers. Rock on Pittsburgh!

(Report Problem)Let's be honest: Pittsburgh is brutal. On the food tip, I asked ten locals where I should dine if I wanted "...the best Pittsburgh (had) to offer." 8 out of 10 suggested the TGI Fridays, 1 referred me to Palomino (though much better, another chain) and an Oyster Bar in a Square in downtown. The oyster bar was the only non-chain referral, yet there were NO customers in the place and the only person on duty had his arms folded, leaning against the back counter and falling asleep whilst standing up. On top of this, the scenery is dotted w/the miserable visuals of long dead factories. Not to worry, though: the scenery is shaken up in some areas by working factories, which are expelling soot-colored, eco-damaging fumes into the skyline and your lungs. The weather also sucks, though the people were very nice, I must admit. Perhaps Pittsburgh is a decent place to raise a family (if you're from there), but do yourself a favor and only go to Pittsburgh when you HAVE to go for business.

(Report Problem)I grew up outside of Pittsburgh, and even after the so called renaissance still do not find the city appealing. It is crime ridden and filthy. The traffic is downright appalling mostly caused by the narrow tunnels that funnel 4 lanes into two. The parkway east is a parking lot most of the day. The only thing worse than the dead downtown are the suburbs. Built around malls, there is no sense of vibrancy or community... and again the traffic is horrible. Robinson Town Center? Monroeville? Malls... Where you have to drive between stores. What a nightmare! And the monopoly that USAir has on the city, despite the nice, new airport, means that it is one of the most expensive places to fly in and out of...and once you are there the cab ride downtown costs a cool $50.

(Report Problem)City is blue collar but has a lot to offer. People are real and unpretensious.

(Report Problem)Pittsburgh is awesome. No one is trying to make it like it's Times Square, actually it's more like lower Manhattan because after business hours people do go home and everything closes...Pittsburgh has a nice downtown, and most people live on the other side of the rivers. Its a great town and NOT expensive at all. Great great restaurants, LOTS of things to do and places to party (Waterfront, Station Square, Strip, Oakland, Southside,) awesome malls in the suburbs, things to do like goto Kennywood, Sandcastle ((best best waterpark near the river, if you have a boat or know someone who does you can pull right up to their dock)) the Science Center, Zoo, museum, aviary, Andy Warhol museum, etc. not to mention goto a baseball or football game. The view from Mt. Washinton (take the famous Incline up to get there) was voted one of the top 10 views in the country) There's a ton of colleges, (Pitt, CMU, Duquesne, Chatham, Carlow) And UPMC which is one of the best medical centers in the world. People who complain about Pittsburgh are funny. We are not trying to be New York City...we have always just been us. So the Port Authority sucks, we have budget problems...things that every city has. Come visit and see, and actually try things. There is so much to do here, I think people just complain because they're jealous!! :)

(Report Problem)Pittsburgh has absolutely nothing to offer anyone. Unless you are a wealthy sports fan, stay clear of this crime infested city. It seams to survive solely by prying on it,s visitors. It is by far the most expensive city to visit and you most likely will not leave without a large financial cost either by intimadation on the street, in your vehicle or some business operators. An honest person will be shredded by the wolves. Read the crime report, IF YOU CAN FIND IT !
