Lost on the strip

five stars

Last year we drove to the Rockabilly Carshow at the Goldcoast. I brought my antique car from Montana just to see vegas and the downtown area. We asked lots of people how to get there but were sent many differnt directions. The last day of the trip we found the bus system and our way to fremont street. We were not able to spend much time there and it will be our first stop on our trip this year. We will be coming back for the Rockabilly car show. PS the car show and the tour to the dam were the best part of the trip.

Hawaii to Vegas and back

four stars

Stayed at the California downtown and enjoyed it immensely. Only had to walk down the street to find the Freemont Experience. And that's what it is, an Experience. It may not last long but it repeats regularly and that's Vegas all over. They say Vegas has 9 million visitors a year and sometimes it seems like they all decided to visit on the same day. Vegas is big, busy and seldom slows down. It's what you make of it.

five stars

Loved everything about Freemont Street. It's cheaper than the strip, in many cases it's more fun than the strip. Really first class experience. Please do not miss it if you ever visit Vegas. You will regret it.

Vegas Must See & Do

five stars

We did Fremont Street from 9-11 pm on a Sat. and it seems that the time of day you're there determines what you'll see and experience. We didn't have time for a day tour. The canopy video show was impressive but short, five minutes in length. What we liked the most on Fremont Street was the excellent live music on every corner. Most of the musicians had cds available for purchase. Gambling and food is cheaper in downtown Vegas and I didn't see anything dangerous or slummy about this area. Vegas is a city with a diverse mix of people; pay attention, be street smart and you should have a good time.

Nice experience

four stars

It was a nice experience. The casinos are not aggressive and very friendly. Tony Roma's staff however seemed overwhelmed with the crowd and the service was not what I have received at other of their sites. Their food presentation, well their was none, which made their food not so appetizing. The food was warm and not cooked to our specifications. Oh boy they tried to compensate with a whole $4 discount.

Pay for Parking at Freemont Street

three stars

We went one night because I'd considered staying at the Golden Nugget. That hotel looked nice online, but their casino was crowded and noisy ... and did not have any electronic blackjack machines on the floor. Also, Fremont Street was the only place all week where I paid for parking. We had free self-parking at Treasure Island, the Alladin, MGM, Bellagio, and Luxor.
