Overall

five stars

I went to SF. just to walk the city for 24 hrs. In 1992-93 I was told I would be lucky if I was NOT in a wheel chair in 5 yrs. It is now 2005. Summer of 2004, June 7th, I walked that brigde, with MY feet... it was a breath of many fresh air(s)...I was born in Oakland, and now live in the midwest with suspected MS... I walked the bridge, under the overpass, up to Vista Point, NO short cuts at all,, back down after a nice view and rest and photo shooting and a touch of the tree, I call it mine... then walked back down, NO short cuts... walked back across,,,never in my 39 yrs of life have I ever been able to accomplish something JUST for me, something I've waited 26 yrs to do. There was nothing I disliked about the walk...or the scenery that day...... Thank You for giving me that chance to walk MY bridge, as my Foster Grandfather was on the bridge the first day it was opened to peds. Thank you again.
