Such History!
The tour of Alcatraz was great. So ineresting. Take the audio tour, it was packed with interesting facts. After we got home we rented the CLint Eastwood movie "Escape from Alcatraz" - it was so neat to watch the movie after just taking the tour.

I was born in San Francisco, but moved because of family many years ago; but as i ll say it again and again there is no place like S.F. Alcatraz is a great start to w wonderful time in california. The audio tour is a very reaccount of the actual times prisoners spent on the rock. Nothing beats to actually step through what the prisoners did or went through. The tours are a very accurate account of what happend back in the early days of the rock up until the remaining prisoners disappeared off the waters. Everyone residents of S.F, and tourists should visit the magnificant rock.

give your self about 1 hour to 1.5 hours and injoy it there a lot to read and a lot to look at and take the head phones is the best way to do it

Really enjoyed it. Kind of tough walking but they do have a trolley. Make sure to do the audio tour. Makes you step back and almost feel like it is still a prison
