Great stay

Pros: Beautiful setting! Near airport, great beach, nice staff. \n \nCons: Far from other attractions, restaurants, etc. Need car/taxi to get anyplace else.

Minus 3 star hotel

Do not stay at this hotel. In the middle of nowhere, bad service, bad rooms, unmotivatived staff. Worst experience in 20 years of travel.

Silver Rock Windsurfing - NO WAY!!!

Bring your gear for sure. This island has no windsurfing equipment to speak of. A few clubs fifteen years ago left some equipment there. Most of it is locked up. Don't expect kite-board gear at all. You need to bring your own gear. No one can instruct you to windsurf or kite board on this island. The only thing you can do there is drink rum! The locals feed you the leftovers from the previous meal. I suggust going to the grocery store and cooking your own food. Don't fall down because someone is going to offer you some marajuana for the pain you just felt. I never saw so many pot smokers in one place since the concerts in the '70's!! Bring your own transportation. I strongly suggust pocket motor bike. A cheap car that would nomally be used to transport you around the junk yard is rented to you at $90 American dollars a day. If you cruise ship stops here, stay on it. This trip was just as dysfunctional as the company I work for and most of my family ties. It made me feel right at home.
