We'll be back!

5 stars

My husband and I ended our 3 island honeymoon at the Four Seasons in Maui and we were not disappointed! The service was tremendous, our dinner at Spaggo was the best we had on the island, and our couples moonlit massage in a tiki hut on the beach was amazing! The only thing a bit disappointing is the subpar beachfront and the rooms were a bit far away from the ocean so we couldn't go to sleep to the sounds of the ocean waves as we had at the other resorts in Kauai and Lanai.

Dissapointed With The Room

4 stars

I'm a regular Four Seasons guest but somehow this property just didn't measure up to my expectations. My "oceanview" room was a major dissapointment to say the least. While it did offer a view of the water, that view was from the farthest point of the hotel near the main road and parking lot. I inquired about changing to a comparable room in another section of the hotel thinking that there should be other similar rooms that could be substituted if not all the guests had checked in. Surprisingly I was told this was not possible because all of the rooms are "preassigned" to guests in advance and the hotel policy is not to change the assignments. In other words, we have to stick somebody with the less than optimal rooms, today it is you, and it isnt worth our time to change things around. But naturally they could move me into a more desirable room if I was interested in a suite (and paying the additional charge)

Exceptional hotel

5 stars

Maui at Wailea was our first Four Seasons experience. The hotel is on a beautiful setting seemingly in harmony with the nature around it. All hotel staff was eager to help but never pushy; it was like the perfect balance. I found all staff to be professional, warm and friendly. The lobby was very inviting and beautiful. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was roomy and designed nicely. No comment about the view from our patio as we don't utilize that feature anyway. (I am willing to sacrifice a good view for a lower priced room) All three on site restaurants were very nice and the food was always excellent. Spago actually found us a seat without a reservation at a busy time. The hotel met all of our requests that we had. We plan to visit Maui again in a few years with this hotel being the only one we will choose there.
