This restored Victorian home is located about ten minutes' walk from the city center and is well-served to meet both your restaurant and accommodation needs. Lacken House provides comfortable guesthouse accommodation, while weddings, business meeting and smaller conferences can also be catered for. Lacken House has won numerous awards, it has won more awards than any other restaurant in Ireland, for its innovative style of modern-Irish cooking. Interesting sample dishes include terrine of wild boar, baked-crab gateau or Dover sole with smoked tomatoes. The restaurant's wine list is second to none.

A haven of peace

When I booked at Lacken House I wasn't told that the Restaurant had closed, even if temporarily, so it was a bit of a shock when I got there. However, I couldn't fault the goodwill and efforts of the Proprietor/Manager to make my stay both comfortable and enjoyable. The full Irish breakfast each morning was a treat, & there were plenty of eating places in the city, only ten minutes' walk away.

Lacken House is great.

I stayed at the Lacken house back in Oct. 2003 and had a wonderful experience. The owners were very pleasant, the rooms were very well decorated and comfortable. This B&B is one of the few that has its own lounge and bar area open in the evening. It is located just a short walk from the center of KilKenny.
