Built in 1912, this magnificent hotel boasts a guestlist peppered with the names of famous people. It served as the residence of that World War II charismatic figure, General Douglas MacArthur. The MacArthur suite remains largely unchanged, as does most of the old wing. Canopied beds, wide corridors, muted carpeting and old-fashioned textured walls create a strong sense of history. The spacious reception area with its grand columns and chandeliers has been called one of the world's most beautiful hotel lobbies.

Manila Hotel

If you want to stay in Manila in pure luxury stay at the Manila Hotel. It is wonderful.

Don't mislead the readers

It is overrated. The facility is too old. Outsiders would be easy to walk-in to the pool without checking. The room remains 70's style. It filled with moldy smell. They should spend some money to renovated the hotel & change the carpet!

BEST OF THE BEST!!!!

I have been to almost all of the 5 star hotels in Philippines LIKE SHANGRI-LA MANILA & MACTAN CEBU, MANILA PENINSULA, MANDARIN ORIENTAL, DIAMOND HOTEL, PAN PACIFIC, DUSIT HOTEL NIKKO, WESTIN PHILIPPINE PLAZA,TRADERS HOTEL, SHANGRILA EDSA PLAZA HOTEL, HOLIDAY INN, but i could say that MANILA HOTEL for me is the BEST AMONG THE REST!!! It has a very classic and elegant interior design and that's what made it special...If you notice the furniture, see how they managed to preserve the beauty of the antique wooden furnitures at the lobby with the engraving of" Manila Hotel 1912." Of course, I LOVE THIS HOTEL BECAUSE THIS IS THE MOST MEMORABLE WEDDING RECEPTION i've had IN MY LIFE...OOOPPSS... I recommend the MAYNILA BALLROOM...IT JUST LOOKS SO ELEGANT AND REALLY CLASSY.... And make sure you find the best flower arranger to have a dramatic entrance and make it more beautiful.... Even our american, european and chinese guests really appreciate its WORLD CLASS BEAUTY... YOU GOTTA SEE IT TO BELIEVE..
