Houston & ice skating?

The rooms at the Westin Galleria are comfortable - make sure you request one of the "heavenly" rooms that the hotel is known for. Down feather beds and plush towels & robes help you relax at the end of the day. Business amenities are lacking (high speed access from the room was inconsistent at best). Because it is attached to the mall, food selection ranges from typical mall food to chain restaurants.

The fact that it's Houston does mean you'll probably sweat to death outside and eventually escape to your room to cool down. A different (and cool) option is to simply go down a few floors and into the attached Houston Galleria shopping mall. They have a year round ice rink in the middle!

The Westin Galleria - great hotel

The Westin Galleria is in a great location - right above the giant Galleria mall. And what else is there to do in Houston but shop? We stayed there the weekend of April 9, 2004 and the hotel looked like it had been recently remodeled. The rooms were large, comfortable and clean. Parking was free. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. And the Westin beds are the most comfortable anywhere. Overall, a great downtown hotel.
