Hotel Monaco is a charming hotel close to the Loop, River North and the Magnificent Mile, and has a great view of the Chicago River. The French Art Deco style and lush furnishings provide elegance and warmth throughout. Special touches for the weary traveler are everywhere here, like goldfish at the front desk—visitors desiring companionship can bring a fishbowl back to their rooms. Whether you choose a suite or just a deluxe room you can expect intriguing comforts like window nooks that double as meditation areas, fancy writing desks and, just in case it rains, an umbrella. The suites also have jetted tubs.

06 Jun 2005 | prjmgr1When I think of the Hotel Monaco, a smile lights up my face. This refined hotel is romantic and exquisite. An element of glamor graces its Deco interior. There is an atomsphere of luxury that is not ostentatious or fussy. This is not a cookie-cutter chain hotel: it has an European sensibility but with a freshness that soothes the tired traveller. I hope you get a chance to stay at my favorite hotel.
06 Jun 2005 | pink_meateaterI've stayed at the Hotel Monaco SF so I am not stranger to Monaco success. i didnt actually stay at the Monaco Chicago but I actually visited a friend here.
The lobby and hallways do not suggest anything extraordinary about this hotel unlike the Monaco SF, until I went inside the room. The décor of the room is not for the faint-hearted; bold colours and design make this hotel stand out from any other, and makes you feel like you’re no longer in Chicago. I'm a sucker for bathrooms and this one was just SO different that I had to love it. I give this hotel an extra star for trying to be different and succeeding at it. As usual, the staff was SUPER attentive. Location is good - but watch out for parking.
I didnt pay for this hotel room so I cant say much about price. Make sure you check out what other people say about price. I think I would pay about 80-110 for this room, which is pretty considering I usually dont pay more than 60 for a room in chicago.
