They advertise air conditioned rooms, but like many hotels have only this fake air conditioning system, where either cold water (in the summer) or hot water (in the winter) is used to condition the temperature of air vented to the room. Unfortunately it is the hotels choice, and not yours, which one you get. I stayed there for 5 nights in the beginning of November, and they had just decided it's winter, so they used hot water. As a result the minimum temperature in my room was around 22 degrees, about 5 more than I prefer for sleeping. The alternative was opening the window to the outside noises. Not exactly 5 star standard, I would say.
06 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserWe stayed in this property in October of 2001. At the time it had been recently renovated. Although the rooms were well priced in 2001, in 2003 the rooms had quadrupled in price, making it a less attractive place to stay.
The rooms are very nice and comfortable. The hotel has everything that you look for in a vacation property. The rooms were clean and modern. The staff spoke English and were able to arrange for our many excursions. The hotel also served a very nice breakfast in the large dining room on the second floor. In addition the hotel had underground parking for your rental car - a surprise in Athens.
The hotel is also well located just above Kolonaki Square. Kolonaki has many nice shops and caters to foreign travelers. It is also close to the many museums and ancient sites of Athens. During the eveing there are many bars and cafes to go to.
Just south of the Kolonaki square is Syntagma square and the subway station. In Syntagma, many of the tour operators have their offices and will often use the square as a meeting point to collect people for their tours.
Close to Syntagma you will find all of the major car rental agencies on Syngrou.
