Set on the waterfront at Cardiff Bay, this luxury, four-star hotel maintains a maritime theme throughout, from the external cruise liner architecture, to the aquamarine colour scheme and interior promenades. A recent redevelopment added a new wing of bedrooms, five suites, a penthouse suite with roof garden, and new conference and leisure facilities. The trendy Cardiff Bay area is a new magnet for the upwardly-mobile, with large-scale redevelopment still going on. The hotel provides a peaceful haven from all the bustle, but is still within minutes of many upmarket restaurants, pubs and other attractions.

I went to this hotel for a private function a few years ago. Maybe it's changed since then but I found it to be wanting in many areas. As expected in a hotel, the food and drinks were overpriced, but the food was served almost cold and the servings were small and disappointing in quality. The interior of the hotel itself was well maintained although the staff did not care about the hotel or its guests. The toilets were cold, and the soap and toilet paper was in very short supply. I would advise caution in staying at, or visiting, this hotel.
