9010 Curry Village Dr, Yosemite Natl Pk, California, 95389, United States…
More and Maps
Opened more than a century ago as an affordable alternative to pricey Yosemite hotels, this village is still a good bet for budget-minded visitors. Options include motel-style rooms with private bathrooms and electric heat, cabins with private bathrooms, electric heat and outlets, cabins with propane heating and no bathrooms, and canvas tent-cabins on wooden platforms. Daily maid and linen service are provided in all rooms and cabins. Cabins without private bathrooms share communal restroom and shower facilities.

I stay at Camp Curry at least three times per year. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in the Valley. The price is always great for a relatively rustic stay in an ideal location for hiking from and with the luxury of not having to set up camp!
06 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserWe found out about Curry Village on the YosemitePark.com website, which was advertising a $39/night special for tent cabins in the fall season. We reserved a tent cabin with a heater, without any mention by the reservation desk that this was not included in the special. Normally, the tent cabins run $64/night and the ones with heaters are only $3 more ($67). Naturally, we assumed that heated tents were included in the special. When we arrived, and found out the difference, we presented the printed pages from the website to the Curry Village management to no avail. They said we should have known the price when we reserved. Upon arriving home, I called the reservations desk again and was told that the heated cabins are always excluded from specials UNLESS it specifically says they are included. What? I thought exclusions were always spelled out so that there is no confusion!
Now, about the lodging ... tents are extremely close together ... some maybe 2 feet apart. The guests are noisy. You can hear snoring. We took our 2 and 4 year olds. The two year old cried a few times during the night, and I'm sure woke many others up. There are no picnic tables or benches to sit on outside the tents. There must be so much foot traffic throughout the year that all ground vegetation is gone ... its just dirt and trees. It feels "third world" or "barracks" not like going to camp. We paid $24 for a buffet dinner (our kids were free), so that was expensive.
Our conclusions regarding Curry Village ... misleading advertising, poor service, expensive food, and uncomfortable lodging.
We stayed in the curry village tent cabin during our visit in yosemite. The location is good because it's right in the park and is close to lots of trail heads. The problem is it's "TENT" cabin. In our tent, we can hear people talking in the next tent. Also, the sign that asked us not to keep any food in the tent or bears might break into our tent made me sleepless thru the night. The next day after returning from the 10-hour half dom hike, we went to the public bath for a hot shower(sorry, no private bathroom with the tent cabins). Unfortunately the water was cold. I showered with the cold water with tears in my eyes. For hardcore campers, I think the curry village is all right. For people who demand quality lodging, please think it twice before making reservations. It's going to be tough staying here.
