For decades, Austin's own San Jose Motel in historic South Austin stood as a symbol of your everyday drive-in motel. Three million dollars later, and after a slight rearrangement of the name, a new hotel was born. Spanish decor adorns the olive brick palace, with cactus and sagebrush rooted in bright, tan rock and silt outlining the hotel. The hotel offers a variety of Latin-flavored rooms including two grand courtyard suites. Framed posters of legendary rock and blues acts that form a part of Austin's music history grace the walls of each room as do the patrons at Jo's Coffee Shop. This is as culturally "groovy" as it gets.

True Austin experience

The Hotel San Jose is the best way to experience Austin! The serene garden space, inviting wine bar, and great staff make you feel right at home, while you are steps away from authentic Austin music, restaurants.
Not the place for family travel, but great for business or pleasure visits. A great alternative to the sterile, hi-rise hotels, Hotel San Jose provides you with access to best of Austin.

Hippest motel in Austin

Who says motels are for budget-minded families traveling in minivans or covert, low-budget trysts? Not in Austin, where the coolest digs in town are the radically restyled San Jose. Super convenient location on South Congress is close to great restaurants and funky shopping. Spare, Southwest style rooms are smallish (it IS an actual former motel) but comfortable, casual, and high style. With luck you will run into one of the many top young film stars who make the San Jose their destination of choice in Austin.

Fun place to stay in Austin

The Hotel San Jose is a great boutique hotel - it's hip, but comfortable. I liked the mimimalist design. If you're looking for plush accommodations or a good place for the kids, this isn't the hotel for you.
