This Moloka'i Ranch Camp, nestled in the hillside pastures outside Maunaloa, features a paniolo (cowboy) theme. Consisting of one- and two-unit "tentalows" (tents which look like bungalows resting on a large wooden platform) with private bathrooms, the camp is appropriate for couples and families with children. Each unit contains either a queen-size bed or twin beds, shelves, pegs for hanging clothing, nightstands, a trunk and all linens and toiletries. Because the camp has no electricity or sewers, environmentally-sound solar-powered lights and fans and composting toilets are used. Hot showers and daily maid service are available. Guests take their meals at a common open-air dining tent. A large horse stable is located at the village, and a variety of equestrian activities is available, including a rodeo ($75) and cattle drive ($85). Hiking, mountain biking and wagon rides are also offered.
