Hotel Repubblica Marinara: Overview

Won't be going back

Prior to booking this hotel, I emailed them to make sure we could get transport from the airport to them as our flight was scheduled to arrived at 11:30 pm on a Saturday night. I was told their shuttle would not be operating but that we could get a taxi. I emailed them again to ask if taxis would be available at this time of night and was assured there would be plenty to taxis. Our flight arrived on time at 11:30 pm and we had to wait more than 1 1/2 hours for a taxi as there were not taxis. We were traveling with our 2 year old and 5 year old and another family who have a 5 year old. Eventually we got a taxi but he would only take the women and kids and our husbands ended up getting a bus. We arrived to the hotel with three kids and suitcases and there was no one to help. The front desk man watched as my five year old lugged a suitcase down the hall to our room. Once we got to our rooms, now close to 2 am, we discovered the electronic key did not work. It was obvious by the damage to the door that this was not a new problem as the door had been jimmied open before. I went back downstairs to get another key and by this time our husbands had arrived by bus. When we finally got into the room, we discovered that the bathroom was flooded with over an inch of water covering the entire floor and had to change rooms. Breakfast in the morning was decent but again, there was no bell staff to help with bags and the front desk staff were not at all interested in being helpful with anything like directions, taxis, etc. I would not stay there again and would not recommend the hotel to anyone I know.
