Although located right in the centre of town, the Renaissance Hotel is remarkably peaceful. It is only a short walk to such cultural highlights as the Opera House and Gewandhaus, while the proximity to the main station means that visitors are well-connected to Germany's inter-city railway network. The Renaissance Hotel will satisfy even the most demanding guest with its 356 modern rooms, an extensive fitness area, a swimming pool and its own restaurant.

This hotel is generally very nice, but I whish the personnel would be more customer friendly. The front desk is just like: "here's your key" and that's it! When we asked about the tours, they said: go to the touris information...
On the last day, we found accidently out, that we were not supposed to have our breakfasts in the nice restaurant on the ground floor, because our reservation didn't include it. So we would have to pay extra for all breakfasts we have eaten there so far. So we asked the front desk where were we supposed to eat the breakfast and they said: in the lounge on the second floor. So we went to the second floor and the lounge was closed! There was someone from the maintenance on that floor and that person told us that that in order to enter the lounge we had the purchase the key for Euro 10! So we went again to the ground floor to the front desk and argued that: first of all, no one has informed us where the breakfast was, she has just told us to go eat upstairs without telling us we needed to buy a key, we were not going to buy the key on the last day, when we were entering the restaurant no one has informed us that we would have to pay extra. And the receptionist got mad and said: ok, go to eat to that restaurant, you don't have to pay extra!
The fitness area is very nice, but the water in the pool was cold and the water in the "hot" tub was just tepid. When we asked the front desk if the water in the "hot" tub was tepid all the time or if there are certain times when it's hot, the receptionist said: "I don't know". No suggestions that he would find out or something like that...
I don't think I'll stay there again...
