Carlton Hotel: Overview

Just 2 stars, not 4.

Hi, I stayed at the Carlton Hotel in Istambul on februaryīs first week 2008. If they would work on finishings it could be a very nice 3 stars hotel, but right now, on international standards, itīs only a 2 stars hotel. I got surprised when found 2 pornographic channels on the TV, and when kindly complained about it at the reception they just said: Ļitīs freeĻ and, very surprised, asked me if Ļyou donīt like them?Ļ So, this isnīt a hotel for families or normal turists. At the minibar I found 2 bottles of mineral water already opened by another clients and carefull filled with plain water (I guess), I said it to the Reception and, after 5 days, when I left, the bottles were there waiting for another clients... The Buffet Breakfast is like nothing and you must pay for omelettes or fried eggs. Incredible. The internet at the Reception costs 4 euros/hour. So, if you may find another hotel in the area which may be really better, donīt hesitate. But, itīs a pity, as the hotel looks nice and needs just simple renovations (my room, 706, was ok), a lot more care by the owner/s, and some more things.
