he Palm Court Hotel has recently been revamped. It could now be deemed a boutique style hotel. Although there are still a few teething troubles, we couldn't fault the service we received. We had been staying there for a wedding and we have to say they made us more welcome than our own family. The bedrooms are well appointed with very modern furnishings. The en-suit bathrooms has all you could want. We had a walk in shower and a constant supply of hot water. Other rooms had bath + shower or a wet room. Slate flooring in the bathroom complemented the deep pile carpet in the bedroom. Fluffy towels could be changed every day. The bed had carved wooden headboard and were very comfortable. Little touches like a really good hair dryer, DVD player, bottles of water [free] and a well stocked min bar added to the experience. Just one criticism, there were no curtains on the windows and the blinds were not the black out type. Consequently we were woken at sun up. The food was very good. In fact choose the jumbo haddock and you could feed more than two people with the amount you receive. The full Scottish breakfast included all the usual plus haggis & potatoe cakes. Drinks in the Whiskey Bar were at pub prices, not what you would normally expect in a hotel bar! All in all excellent value for money and very good service. The staff really do want you to enjoy your stay. Thank you, Palm Court.
