When it gets too much and you need a break, don't think twice. Just pack your bags and take off to the serene Le Parker Meridien Palm Springs. This ultimate place in luxury is situated on thirteen acres of landscaped gardens that are surrounded by the desert and mountains. You can either book a standard room or a villa. The rooms are cozy, with soft lighting and pastel walls. If the comfort indoors overwhelms you, head to the pools, tennis courts, squash courts, spa, or the gymnasium. The hotel also offers wedding, corporate and banquet facilities.

My overall impression of my stay was that the Parker worked at seeming friendly and funky, but no one really felt that way. My room was beautiful...except for the missing doors under the sink in the bathroom (which stayed missing for three nights), another person's fruit basket and wine in the rooom, and the fact that the person showing us the room did not know where the bathroom light switch was. \n \nI had a small issue with the hotel before I arrived when they were unwilling to be flexible about the cancellation policy even when I had a family emergency. \n \nPost-visit, I am still waiting for the postcards I sent to my kids that they said they would mail for me. When they said they would take care of postage, I believed them. I guess I was wrong. \n \nThe room, grounds and spa are gorgeous, but the service lacked the attention to detail that I expected for a smallish hotel that charges that price.
05 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserBeing from the east coast I was a little leery about going to Palm Springs, thinking it too be passe. \n \nIt was great, though what really made it was the Parker. It is a hotel that feels like a great estate, not a factory hotel. I was taken to my room by a tall man in a pink jacket who could tell I was tired, but wanted some information about the place without a sales pitch. \n \nWhen we arrived at our room I was blown away by the decor: somewhat retro, yet not self conscious about it. Sisal carpet, a stunning red chair, splashes of color on a white canvas. Hermes soap, Peter Thomas Roth sunscreen and more. \n \nWe lounged at the saline pool, had a great massage at the massive spa, and feeling too lazy to venture out we decided to eat at Mr. Parker's. A great decision (later we ate elsewhere in the area and learned just how great the food at the Parker was). \n \nThe next morning we headed over to Norma's for breakfast on the terrace. We were ready to be completely dissapointed, for Norma's in NYC is our favorite weekend place. Not a chance, the food and service was just as great (try the Waz-za). \n \nThe staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. They genuinely seemed to be having fun. \n \nAll in all a great little vacation. If you are any where near Palm Springs you've got to check it out.
