A gem of a deal, this place is a testament to the high standards of Best Western. At the center of Santa Monica, you can walk or inline skate to the beach, or to some of the world's best shopping, restaurants and galleries. The rooms are spotless and pleasantly decorated. Even the ocean view rooms with balconies are a bargain for this area. The hotel is a recipient of the AAA Two Diamond Award for quality. Four restaurants are within easy walking distance.

Continental Breakfast????

We paid for a continental breakfast... and got two muffins and a plastic cup of coffee!

Courteous, professional staff? You won't find them here

The hotel charges $15.00 per night guest parking when the guest directory in each room states the charge is $10.00. Even that seems excessive when many area hotels offer free parking. When I attempted to ask the desk clerk about this discrepancy I was given the "drop dead" look and was told that the parking fee had been $15.00 for over a year. I asked to speak with the general manager, who wasn't expected for another two hours, so the desk clerk contacted him by phone. I spoke to the general manager and attempted to express my concerns regarding parking and other issues.
His response was, "I haven't gotten around to changing the fee in the directory". Then he hung up on me. I decided to wait the two hours to meet with him in person. When I asked him why he hung up on me he walked away. Keep in mind that most of the rooms will not have an ocean view and the walls are extremely thin. There are many lovely hotels in the area--stay elsewhere and avoid the aggravation.

Terrible Customer Service

Manager lacks customer service qualities. Room was cancelled but refuses to give credit for a night not stayed.
