The Bierwirt is one of the city's oldest establishments. This inn is located in the Southern Amras district, a part of the city that has retained a very idiosyncratic, village-like atmosphere, of which the Bierwirt is an important part. From the center, it takes a fifteen-minute ride with the tram and a ten-minute walk to get here. The restaurant itself is well worth a visit; it is certainly one of Innsbruck's best addresses when it comes to Tyrolean specialties in a romantic, rustic ambiance. The building, which is about 500 years old, was refurbished in 1998 and has been in the same family for five generations.
