My husband & I were in much need of a relaxing weekend. I was so very lucky to have found Casa Cody Casa Cody is the reason why we are returning to Palm Springs. Our room was beautiful, clean,& comfortable.
06 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserI was so charmed by this place that I once wrote a review for a paper. The gracious owner gave me two nights stay for free as a thankyou. Casa Cody is peaceful, has gorgeous grounds, spectacular views, nice rooms, is only a block or so away from the heart of Palm Springs Village, and offers a free breakfast that (though it isn't a hot breakfast) is much more than the usual continental sweet roll and juice. It also is quite significant historically speaking. Ask about it! I've stayed at many places in the Palm Springs area and this is my favorite.
06 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserUntil I unpacked, the evening I returned home, I would have rated this B&B as simply “Average.” We stayed in a decent room. Mostly clean. In need of some sprucing-up, such as paint, etc. The complimentary breakfast was adequate, but consisted of very mundane items such as bagels, oatmeal and canned fruit. The best part of Casa Cody was its grounds and view of the mountains. The office staff was strictly all business – not the welcoming, friendly and personable folks I have generally encountered at B&Bs.
I changed my opinion of Casa Cody to “Terrible,” after I realized I’d forgotten a large toiletries bag in the bathroom, and called their office first thing the next morning. I was told that they would check and get right back to me. I called again 4 hrs later with the same reply. The next day, after no return call from Casa Cody, I phoned again. I was told that no bag was found by the cleaning crew. Let me say that I certainly take responsibility for leaving it behind. But I had expensive products in the 1.5x2 ft bag, and it was hanging conspicuously from the towel rack. Someone found the bag and decided to keep it. The office was not helpful or apologetic in any way.
I’ve vacationed at far, far nicer B&Bs for the same money. My suggestion is to stay elsewhere in Palm Springs, as there are plenty of other options, and the terrific views are plentiful.
