This family-owned hotel Tahitian Inn, focuses its decor on the South Pacific, with paintings and murals of broad-leafed palms and banana trees. A pretty, well-kept place with attractive white furnishings and pastel decor, the hotel has a variety of different guest rooms, many of them quite spacious. Outside, there's a large heated pool and deck rimmed with thatched-roof tiki huts. Inside, you'll find a coffee shop, much loved by the local crowd, to stave off starvation.

I selected the Tatitian Inn and Spa based on ratings by other travelers and the location. I was satisfied with the location, but was impressed with little else. \nDon't let the name fool you; this is not a spa resort hotel!! The check-in area is opulent and gives the impression that the rest of the hotel is the same. Not true! The hotel is basically a converted Holiday Inn, with basic, rather dingy rooms. \nOne good feature of the room was the fridge and microwave. The pool also looked nice, although I never got a chance to enjoy it. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to any travelers other than spring breakers.
05 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserWhile traveling to and from Chicago to Tampa, I stumbled on this great Family owned hotel. The Tahitian Inn has an exotic hotel theme that provides it's guest with excellent service. There are moderate price rooms located in the back section of the hotel and also executive rooms located in the front section of the hotel. This review is based on stay in the executive room. The executive rooms are beautifully decorated in a tahitian theme, tile floors, rich dark wood, and tropical accessories. Each of the executive rooms have four poster beds, mini refrigerators, coffee makers large bathrooms with a shower or whirlpool tub, some rooms have balconies and each room has free high speed internet access which is a major plus when travelling on Business. I really enjoy a soak in the whirlpool tub after a long day at work. The hotel has a great restaurant where you can dine outside by a beautiful Koi Pond and the food and service is excellent. The hotel has a lovely pool with Tiki huts and hammocks, a workout gym and a day spa. The hotel cafe offers entertainment Wed- Sat night. The hotel is located on S. Dale Mabry which is convienient to Hwy 275. An executive room is less than a standard room at one of the larger hotel chains. You get more bang for your buck at the Tahitian Inn. During my last stay at the Tahitian I enjoyed a massage at the spa and found the experience incredible. If you are tired of the same old hotel room, stay one night at this wonderful family owned Hotel and you will never want to stay anywhere else in Tampa. Everyone at the hotel does a great job of making your stay the best it can be and I will always stay at the Tahitian on my business or leisure trips to Tampa.
