A nightmare

This place is terrible. Recently stayed there on a trip to York and had a conversation with an unfortunate member of their staff, who informed me that they are told to work eighteen hour shifts, in which they recieve a ten minute break, for fourteen days in a row! They are threatend with their jobs should they refuse to do so. I felt discusted that I had stayed in a place that exploits their hard working staff in this manner, and strongly urge you to boycott The Grange Hotel, York.

Excellent service and location

Recently returned from a weekend in York, stayed @ this hotel, all staff were excellent and friendly, the rooms were spotless and the whole stay was most enjoyable. Location was 3 mins walk into Shambles / centre of York. Pity we could'nt of stayed for the two nights duration as they were booked solid, so we tryed the Minster hotel down the road...... horrible experience , same price as this hotel but dirty , disorganised and breakfast was joke waited 30 mins for a cold fry up!. The Grange in the mean time was excellent and we shall return to the warm welcome and polite service we wre offered! EVOs & Coopers Feb 2007
