Built in 1897, The Connaught has preserved its air of Edwardian elegance to create a feeling akin to staying in a palatial country house. Decorated with hand-tufted carpets and fine antiques, this is a hotel steeped in class and discretion, but one that effortlessly incorporates all the trappings of the modern world. The mahogany staircase, original oil paintings, and hand-made furniture blend effortlessly alongside the new fitness studio. All the rooms have been individually decorated in an English country style. The Connaught's premier attraction, however, remains its Michelin-starred restaurant.

it had awful service while i was there for a trip i take every year and the beds were filthy and the tv didnt work.

Connaught Hotel

Quiet, charming hotel in very convenient location for shopping on Oxford, Bond and Regent Streets, also can walk to British Museum and Picadilly. Service was excellent and room comfortable, the bathroom stocked with an abundance of amenities by Floris. Although the kitchen has a fine reputation in the guide books, we did not particularly like the food, but we loved the hotel otherwise, a really luxurious experience.

Old World Charm

If you do not care for cookie cutter American Hotels you may enjoy the Connaught.
It is extremely quiet in a very busy part of town. This sheets and robes are soft and high quality. I was able to walk to Bond Street to the Major Shopping and I would say the hotel was quite lovely.

The main dining room is beautiful but, the chef is overrated. Try the Notting Grill instead. If you are looking for over blown interiors like the Ritz this hotel is not for you. If you want to people watch stay somewhere else. This hotel is perfect for a couple who want quiet evenings after days filled with one of the most exciting cities in the world.
