The place was transformed into a 99-all-suite resort with appointed suite names like Noel Coward, Sommerset Maugham and Rudyard Kipling, who themselves have graced these portals. It comes replete with a promenade and a magnificent view of the sea as well as in-house dining and refectories. Guests are treated to the best in exquisite bed linen of the finest Egyptian cotton, Persian carpets, chocolates, petit fours, fruit basket and orchids, daily.

Worth a special trip to stay here

A superbly restored 19th Century grand colonial hotel on a fascinating island. Huge, comfortable suites; vast modern bathrooms; excellent restaurants; impeccable, friendly service. Hard to think of a single negative about this delightful hotel.
