Opened in 1858 by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, the hotel is now a family run concern promising guests a friendly and courteous service. The restaurant - La Grille - has both à la carte and table d'hôte menus along with a good wine list. The Empire Bar is pleasant and informal.
