For a lovely view of Yamashita Park and the bay beyond, you could not select a better venue. Established in 1979, this thirteen-story hotel with a double basement affords visitors a prime location. Unfortunately, the seascape comes at a price, which puts the Yokohama Hotel at the top of its range among accommodations of similar cost. The choice is one of atmosphere and convenience, with the port and Chinatown near at hand.

Surcharge?
I booked a room for a week there. I got a \nprice and paid for it in full on my credit \ncard. A week later, they e-mailed me with \nthe subject being Surcharge. They had raised \nthe room rate up $700.00. I had gotten the \nreservation from Asiarooms.com, but dealt \nwith the hotel directly about that bill. All \nthey could tell me was that "because I was \nstaying there a long time." This is totally \nwrong. The original price was high but it \nwas a nice place. I had to book another room \nat the Shin Yokohama Prince on Expedia. They \nwere excellent, being fast and effiecient. \nI want to warn people of this scam. Nothing \nhad changed in the original booking, so why \nraise the price &700? One thing they said \nwas they would not charge me a cancelation \nfee. We will see. This trip is to see my \nJapanese daughter-in-law, grandson, & son \nin the Navy.
