Piano dei Mantellini 34, Siena, 53100, Italy…
More and Maps
This ancient, typically Tuscan building has been transformed into an attractive pensione. In an ideal position, a few minutes from the center of Siena, it offers a splendid view over an enchanting garden and the hills. Some rooms have beautiful frescoes and Florentine-tiled floors with original, 16th-century furniture. The hotel also has a restaurant which offers typical, Tuscan food.

My big sister just took me on a fantasy trip to Tuscany and we stayed here in room 5. We had amazing painted ceilings with origional leaded glass windows and outside shutters that were thrown open to view the majestic country side. Beneath this we looked over the courtyard with a running fountain and cafe tables added to the charm. Our rooms were comfortable and elegant. Don't let the sparsness of the decor throw you. We were comfortable and had wonderfull yet unobtrusive service. Our morning buffet breakfast was served in a lovely glassed room by attentive staff and in summer we were told we would normaly be out in the courtyard under umbrellas. In the bar is open most of the afternoon and into the evening. YOu can enjoy the common rooms our sit out in the couryard. The front desk was run by lovely english speaking staff members that guided us to less tourist moded resturants. I have stayed in 5 star plush hotels and say that if you are used to excess this may not be for you. But is is sophisticated, charming and after small cramped tired looking rooms in Florence you will feel like a princess in such a place. For the ones on Honeymoons Ask for room 6 ( I think? ) it faces the Courtyard and has a seating area seperate from the bedroom. The bed sits under a painted alcove and chrystal chandalier and has a great romantic flair. NOTE: Pick up some wine from a local shop and some cheese and eat in your room in time for sunset. I could go on and on......
06 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserFrom the moment my new bride and I entered (Although we were slightly late, the front desk lady said that they'd been worried about us!! How wonderful!!), I felt more comfortable than any other hotel I've been to in the world. Our rooom was spacious an tastefully decorated, Dinner was magnificent! and our view was stunning - especially during the sleepy fog-filled early morning. Comfort and class are the norms at this fine establishment.
