Named after the thoroughfare (Epifanio de los Santos Avenue, or EDSA) that came to world attention during the miraculous People Power Revolution of 1986, this exemplary, deluxe business hotel opened in 1992 and easily filled its guest and function rooms. The hotel also became popular for its lobby lounge, with floor-to-ceiling windows facing lush tropical greenery. An additional wing was constructed in 1997. Three shopping malls are within the vicinity.

This hotel sure made our trip in the Philippines last March unforgettable. Everything was great!! We have three small children with ages 9,5, and 4 years old. I would say this is the best place to stay when you have small children . My family has been in several places in the world and we are proud to say Shangri-la Edsa beats them all. Stay here and you won't have regrets.
05 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserRoom we had was clean but rather small. Price includes free buffet breakfast with excellent selection of Western, Filipino, and Korean breakfast. Great lobby. Hotel staff greet you whenever you pass by them. Bellman named "Duke" was especially helpful to us. The cocktail waitress named "Angel" was very cold, did not smile, and my wife and I took the trouble of remembering her name because of the way she behaved. She gave better service to caucasian customers in the lobby's cocktail lounge. Another Filipino customer had to stand up and approach her to get service. She was the only hotel staff that did not smile to us.
05 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserThe review that I'm writing now is the experience that our group had experienced in booking our rooms. We are the PCP/CCP Alumni group from Los Angeles who will be attending the 50th Golden Jubilee of our high school. We chose EDSA Shangri-La because of the distance from our alma mater and the distance where the dinner dance will be held (Club Filipino). The employee who assisted our group to make reservation is very helpful and very accommodating to everyone. The first day we contacted the hotel they responded in a very timely manner. Our group agreed to stay at Shangri-La because of the location/area is very closed to our needs. The shopping center, food plaza and other ameneties. Most of all this Shangri-La is in the middle where all the alumni's live. So if you are looking for nice & beautiful hotel that has everything that you need, try to book with them.
