Aptly named, this hotel opened in 1989 and boasts an erupting volcano, a tropical rain forest with waterfalls, the white tigers of Siegfried and Roy and a Dolphin Habitat. Each guest room is comfortable, tastefully decorated in soothing colors and offers views of the city lights or mountains. All forms of gaming are available, from high-stakes table action to slot machines. Fine dining establishments include the lush rainforest of Kokomo's for fine steaks and seafood; Samba Brazilian Restaurant for Brazilian fare.

Just don't eat at Samba Grill at Mirage

Save your money. The whole concept of a Brazilian grill is that you get a constant sampling of various meats. Well the service at Samba was some of the worse I have ever experienced in my life. I hardly had anything – I had to wave down the various servers for them to stop and give us the food we paid for. It was like my table was invisible I’ll never step foot in the Mirage again.

Brilliant all over. Very classy

We really enjoyed our stay here, and can only compliment the service and everything else. One of the classics of Vegas!

Tropical paradise at the heart of the action...

Our spacious room was on the 21st floor, overlooking the volcano and The Venetian, with views right back down to MGM and right out to the hills towards Arizona... you can literally just watch all the action going on. And the tropical paradise which is the pool area (it's like a lagoon actually!) is fantastic. Great location on the Strip for exploring the other casinos as well...
