Location and facilities were above average. Service was adequate except at the pool bar.
06 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserThe staff were very friendly and the Hilton Hawaiian Village was next door, a great area to shop. The shops and in particular the in house medical center were a serious added extra.
06 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserWas supposed to be a ocean front hotel - not even close. The pools were tiny and the walkways were always wet through the three days I stayed there. \n \nHad requested a non-smoking room to only find the person checking us in state "it was either or or a non-smoking room" What does that mean - it is either a non-smoking room or not. Shows the attitude of the staff. We had to pay additional $20 for parking. Tried to sell us every upgrade possible. Never felt so nickel and dimed by any hotel of repute. I have stayed with the Marriot properties before and had very good experieces. This one is by far the worst. \n \nThe room was clean and the "partial ocean view" was nothing more than the lanai (balcony) providing the view of the street that ends at the yacht club. \n \nThe concierge desk was least helpful in guiding us and nost interested in selling us activities we did not want. You would do well to compare the reviews (I admit, I did not do it before I booked the hotel) with other hotels of the same star rating in the area. Wonder how AAA messed up this one! \n \nAdvice - Stay here only if you are looking for a no more than a place to stay.
