More and Maps
Bask in the opulence and nostalgia of a former khedive's lodge. The Mena House is an old Cairo landmark set in the shadow of the Pyramids and surrounded by 40 acres of lush gardens, a golf course and tennis courts. The hotel is steeped in history and boasts an impressive guest list of royals and famous personalities. Its elegant arabesque halls and spacious rooms, all restored to their 19th century design, captivate guests and make this distinguished hotel a tourist site in itself. If you can afford it, this is the place to stay in Cairo.

This is a great hotel. Excellent food and so close to the Pyramids. It has wonderful views and some of the best staff to be found in Egypt.
25 Jan 2008 | A Yahoo! UserWe went with great expectations to this Indian Cousine Restaurant in Mena House Oberoi Hotel making two car trips from down town Cairo as we were told to reserve our seats ahead because of the rush.In fact when we went there there was not much rush in that particular restaurant and the food did not come anywere near our expectations. They were telling us that the cook came specially from India;but we thought his job might have been something other than cooking in India. Any way we had a look around the hotel and it's swimming pool barbaque arrangements;the ambience of which was great. We did not taste the barbaque items and I am not sure whether they are like those we had at the Mughul Restaurant. The lighting, the building from outside and the gardens were really nice and in the dark the Pyramids shine momentarily which looks pretty from the side of the swimming pool. If they bring better cooks in Moghul restaurant I may be interested to visit the place next time. However I have not seen the rooms to comment.
20 Jul 2005 | A Yahoo! UserThis was a great trip and i loved the grounds and view @ the mena house. The breakfast buffet was great, but the other food was average. And, the rooms were a bit long in the tooth, but who cares with a view like that!!
