My mother stayed here it was meant to be a nice break for her she rang me up really upset. She said it was disgusting she wouldn't let our dogs stay in it. The carpet had rotten brown stains she didn't want to think about the room was grubby and hadn't been cleaned for a long time the pillow was torn and she had several bites from something living in the bed !!!! Never again
02 Aug 2008 | A Yahoo! Usermy goodness where to start!, I think in some ways I'm glad we stayed there as it was so terrifically awful its managed to give us a few laughs today ! the car parking is located 0.8 miles away in the ncp carpark, and when your done in with a long journey a 10 minuet walk with your luggage is not so appealing , especially if you were on your own and its dark!! I got to see 4 rooms as we were part of a wedding party , and they were all filthy old , wrecked and dusty ... the fact the only the bed sheets and towels were crispy white dosn't qualify for what I would class as a clean room, do they hae a hoover .. duster ... mop .....? anything ?? ive come to the conclusion they have a laundry service they use and thats it. well the ceiling fell through in and along corridor because some one was having a bath above .... it would have been a lot less of a leak had the staff done something when first tiold about the leak ..... instead they had to be reminded 30 mins later when we looked again to find it was rather a lot more than a small leak by that time ... there must have been a few rooms that got leaked into as well as the corridor . after that i looked at a lot of the ceilings to find quite a lot of large patches dotted about the hotel so must be fairly common , my friend was in what aparantly was a luxary room ..it was far far worse than any of our partys rooms , it looked as if someone had had a fight in there smashed lights dented shades and really filthy ... and was down a very noisey squeeky creaky old maze of corridors and corners at the end where it wasd a dead end ... I have no idea how it possibley fitted with fire regs. plus you could smoke , the policy the receptionist said was if you have an ash tray in your room you can smoke .... if you dont you cant ! well just to add to it her windows were jammed shut too and full length floor to ceiling very rotted out frames and very thin fragile looking panes of glass too..... and a tiny rail the other side abiut knee high at the most ! only 3 storeys to fall if you happened to trip on there dodge carpet and fall into window !!! my freind balcony was very scafolding looking and i choose not to bother standing on it just incase . there was a tramp who wandered in smelt of wee and drunk wandering round the lobby askin where the loos were ... so nobody semed the slightest bit bothered about this at the desk so i showed him the direction and hope he wee'd alover the floor so they get to clean it up ..... which i doubt they would .. so there you go , nice a secure from people wandering in , we got 2 rude wake upcalls that we never wanted , and then a random alarm that went o for 30 secs at the crack of dawn ... my friends room was cleaned when she hadnt put the service this room card on the door , she wasn appy as they had gonr to the trouble of deciding what was rubbish around the room and thrown out a couple of lids from her toiletrys in te process , very small but annoying thing to have to throw out or risk spilling your products every where because of there ignorance ! you know i could go on at length about the state of the place , it really was quite unbelivable how bad it was ... it needs an award for its cheek to charge people to stay there , I think ill stay at the night shelter next time .
15 Feb 2008 | vsibley@btinternet.comVERY DISAPPOINTING FROM THE MOMENT WE ARRIVED.GRUBBY LOOKING AND IN DIRE NEED OF SOME TLC.OUR ROOM WAS HORRENDOUS....A BED IN A CUPBOARD SOMEONE DESCRIBED IT AS. NO WINDOW,JUST A SKYLIGHT 12 FEET IN THE AIR AND IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH.IT WAS A STUFFY ,TOTALLY AIRLESS ROOM,NO OVERHEAD LIGHT JUST A DULL LAMP. COULD NOT EVEN READ A PAPER.BATHROOM WAS GRUBBY.WE LEFT AFTER ONE AWFUL NIGHT.UNFORTUNATELY WE WERE WITH A COACH PARTY SO JUST HAD TO FIND OUR OWN WAY HOME ON THE TRAIN.WE HAVE COMPLAINED AND HOPE TO BE COMPENSATED FOR THE NIGHTMARE WE EXPERIENCED.
