We booked to stay bank holiday weekend. After checking in at half 4 we decided to have a wonder round brighton. We were only gone for 2 hours and our THINGS IN OUR room had been STOLEN!!!!! The door had not been forced, so someone WITH A KEY had helped themselves to about £1000 worth of our stuff!!! When we reported it to the staff they were so so UN HELPFUL!! the police are investigating, i have seen reviews on other sites where the same thing has happened!! Do not stay in this dirty, theif ridden place!!
27 May 2009 | A Yahoo! UserAfter the 2 hour journey and the high expectation of a sea view room (booked), we were told our room wasn't available and that an alternative had been given. We arrived to a box room with the air con not working but dripping off the ceiling and mould on the wall, the nets, yes nets and curtasins hanging off the rail, no TV reception and the outside air con unit under the window that sounded like a 40 a day smoker was asleep under the window! The bed was two singles pushed together and had a travel blanket and bedspread. This was described on their website as luxury and elegance. It is if you are a stray dog at an RSPCA shelter! We were offered a bottle of house wine by the non chalant receptionist, which arrived with two cracked and dirty wine glasses. Breakfast was even a disaster as there was limited amoun ts of everything an hour into service.I am sure they scrambled their eggs in the same pan they boil their tea towels. They have made progress on the outside but anything past the ground floor is a let down. Finally be aware of the railing between floors 2 and 3 as the knob at the top of it comes off in your hand and you may end up at the bottom of the stairs quicker than you thought
11 Apr 2009 | michael.burke34@btinternet.comNever ever again, dirty, in the bathroom there was a cotton bud on the floor with ear wax on it Ugh!!!. room cramped, noisy, whole place needs a refurbishment, food dreary, if you wanted a fried egg with breakfast you had to order it even though a buffet bar system. If going to Brighton and you have a choice of sleeping rough under the pier or using 'The Royal Albion' sleep under the pier. Don't bother writing to complain they will ignore your complaints would have given no stars if option was there
