An elegant city centre landmark, the hotel's majestic neoclassical façade never fails to impress passersby. It was built in 1919 and was totally refurbished in 2001 without losing any of its grace. In fact, it was brought up-to-date and now offers bedrooms furnished in an old-fashioned style, but with all the necessary modern conveniences. The hotel even has WiFi, allowing guests to go online throughout the property. This hotel is also a favourite with famous names like Woody Allen, Orson Welles, Salvador Dalí and musician, Xavier Cugat. The Cælis Restaurant offers Mediterranean and Catalan cuisine and it is open to the public. Buffet breakfast is available daily at Diana's Garden.

I would totally stay there again

This hotel was an experience total explaing what Europe stlye is all about the way it looks in the pictures that really the way the rooms are ! The concier people where very helpful and friendly set us up in great locations for starting from bull fighting to flamenco shows and seting us up on a trip to the Island of IBIZA where u party all night long Overall this hotel is highly recomended!

Not a great value

This 'Ritz' Hotel is not affiliated with the Ritz Carleton Hotel line, and this was apparent in the less-than-great service we received there. The hotel itself is nice, but the rooms left something to be desired in this price range, and lacked ample soundproofing. All in all, not a bad experience, but certainly not what we had hoped for. Location of this hotel is good, but I'm certain there are better values in Barcelona.
