06 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserI like this hotela lot been there about three times. On the Garden Rooms,Only thing is I never found were to block the windows for the sunlight, and i did not really saw it. The casino seems to be the biggest one i have gone to in Santo Domingo, allways full. And theres live music, a lot of locals, compare to tourists. You can walk from there to the Cuidda Colonial, about 25 minutes walk. It was very safe the last times i went there. Go to the markets, or el "paseo",wheres there are shopping stores. Hotel room allways clean, needs some remodeling tough. Room service very good, only the taxes are high. But all the hotel i been staying lately are charging too much tax,Mexico,USA. I found that its sister hotel of the Jaragua, Marriot Courtyard,is about $30.00 les ,it is a newer hotel, everything in top shape. they are friendly, very good hotel.
06 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserThe setting of the hotel was great. The pool in view of the Carribean Sea and bar was the best, along with having my room in the garden. \nI thought the tax on food was ridiculous and the amount of prostitution in front of a nice hotel. It could have been controlled. \nIf you just like to experience another city- fine, but do not expect view the city and get pretty view unless you know where you are going.
