Austin's most renowned hotel, The Driskill is stylishly grand and opulent. A member of the 'Leading Hotels of the World', it has recently had the mother of all makeovers. It is an ideal abode because of its proximity to both the corporate as well as the entertainment districts of Austin. The rooms are splendid; each of 205 have been done up in turn-of-the century Victorian design. Take a walk down the beautiful lobby bedecked with hand-made marble, hand-painted ceilings and a custom-made stained glass dome. Such luxury is hard to leave behind to explore the rest of Austin!

I have never actuall stayed at the Driskill, but have been inside many times. The bar is fabulous, the furnishing astonishing, the Texas feel is real. Rich, warm Texas elegance. I love this hotel and it's location and I am finally going to stay the night there with my husband this weekend we are going to make a great occassion of it!! I can hardly wait!!

Driskill, Austin

Wow. This hotel is a must for anyone seeking an authentic Austin experience. The hotel is absolutely stunning, but comfortable all the same. I had such fun just walking around and looking at the gorgeous furniture and the architectural details. The room was authentic and did the tough job of feeling "old" without actually looking old. Beautiful bathroom! The location rocks! Walk to every cool nightclub around 6th street. The cafe is cute and the food was good. I have stayed at other hotels in the area but this one is absolutely the best all around.
