I stayed at The Pierre for my honeymoon in July and absoluetly had the most wonderful time. The views from our room and the service was something out of this world. Its an experience everyone should have.
05 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserMy mother and I stayed at the Pierre to do some Christmas shopping last year and we loved its elegance and old style sophistication! The restaruant was also exceptional! I'd recommend this to anyone!
05 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserI recently stayed at the La Pierre and I really don't understand how a hotel with such run down facilities and rooms can claim to be one of the "world's finest". "Understated elegance" is a far stretch unless this has become the term commonly used to describe a former luxury hotel that is no longer kept up or maintaned. The bathroom looked like something from a common Holiday Inn with cracked tile and a tub that needed refinishing or replacement. The rooms were extremely small and spartan to say the least.
The La Pierre is a very good example of the usual New York hype with no real substance. Don't waste your money unless you just like paying for ample attitude and the salaries of the staff that are stationed in the elevators to push the correct buttons for you.
