The setting is one of the best features of this upscale condo resort. Perched atop a bluff, it overlooks the windswept beach on one side and Wailua Golf Course on the other. The property is next to Lydgate Park, and the hotel grounds are green enough to appear like an extension of the park. Nearby attractions include Wailua Falls, Na Pali Coast and Fern Grotto. Shopping and dining are also within a few moments' driving distance. Private lanais, in-room VCRs, putting green, tennis courts, BBQ facilities.

We went there with an 18 month old and enjoyed ourselves. It was nice to be close to the sheltered beach park as well as a great play structure, all open to the public. The only downside was the sound from the units travelled within the complex, which I'm sure at times was difficult for both our family and the other residents of the complex.
05 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserDo not rent a condo near a public beach unless you like to stay awake all night and listen to cars burning tires, kids playing loud music and the police that can do nothing about it.It happens every NIGHT! Trust me, The manager said they have complained but the police do nothing.I called the police every night and they did run off the kids it lasted about 1 hr each time they run them off then they returned. \nThe police do their job but the condo manager are worthless, they don,t care?
05 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserMy friend and I rented a condo at Kaha Lani through one of the owners. I'd like to make it clear that we did not rent via Castle properties who manages these units. If you are thinking of renting a unit at Kaha Lani, you'd be much better off renting the property via the management company and spending a few extra dollars. Why?
Upon our arrival we were greeted with an unclean, dirty condo (the throw rugs were grimy and there was splattered toothpaste all over the mirror in the bathroom and that's just to start with) and a basket-full of unwashed bedsheets, pillowcases, towels, beach towels, and wash clothes. Yes, there is a laundryroom on-site. Thank goodness. The cockroaches didn't show themselves until a day or two before we left. I'm still waiting for my deposit back from the owner who claimed this was the only snafu in three years of using one particular cleaning service. There's more.
Be prepared when you come here, especially in the summer months, for no air conditioning. None of the units have it. The trade winds do help when you open your slider and let them in, but when we were there (in October) the trade winds stopped blowing and the humidity was unlike any I have experienced, and I grew up on the east coast with plenty of it.
The good news is that the location is good, and the grounds are very well maintained. In our case, it was far cleaner outside than in. The pool was a dream, and a short walk got us to Lydgate State Park where the snorkeling was fun.
Be careful of who you rent from. Remember, if the price seems too good to be true, there is a reason.
