The historic Redmont hotel is located downtown on Fifth Avenue North. The decor, though updated throughout, tends toward the traditional with its antique furnishings, chandeliers and high ceilings. The rooms are tastefully furnished and comfortable. Many rooms have excellent views of the city. The hotel has a full service restaurant, Grill 521, and a lounge, Corner Lobby Bar.

Stay at the Redmont as least once!

The Redmont is centrally located and is steeped in history. If you stay at the Redmont, be sure to explore the hotel and its treasures. I recommend a suite as the bathrooms in the regular rooms are quite small. The hotel has a full selection of basic cable stations.

Horrible hotel!

The room was large, and in good condition. However, the service here HORRIBLE!! We were in town for a wedding. It begins with this being Talledega Race weekend.
They overbooked the hotel, as I was told by a snotty front desk person. He said there was NOTHING they could do, and it wasn't his fault. No one here was the least bit helpful.

I ended up bunking with another bridesmaid. Her key had to be rescanned 4 times. It would not open her door. They tried to kick another bridesmaid out of her room hours before the wedding. Again, overbooked. Luckily she had documentation, showing the date to check out.
The bride was in tears over this, and this hotel should be ashamed. 15 family members and dear friends were left with no where to sleep, and no rooms in the city available due to the race. I highly recommend finding somewhere else to stay!
